NEW YEAR, NEW CLASS… but which one should you choose?

by OAS Team

So, it’s a brand-new year and after some much-needed rest and relaxation you know it’s now time to get back to work, get back to class and keep working towards your acting goals. But which classes should you do?

Choosing the right acting class can be a daunting task. With so many options available, it can be difficult to know where to start. But don’t worry, with a little bit of research and some careful consideration, you can find the perfect acting class for you.
Here are a few things to consider when choosing an acting class:

  1. What are your goals? Are you looking to improve your audition skills, learn a specific technique, or just have fun? Knowing what you want to get out of the class will help you narrow down your options and choose a class that aligns with your goals.

  2. What is the instructor’s background and experience? Do some research on the instructor to find out their credentials and experience. Look for someone who has a proven track record of success in the acting industry and can provide valuable insights and guidance.

  3. What is the class size and format? Smaller classes with a more intimate setting can provide a more personalized learning experience, while larger classes may offer more opportunities for networking and feedback from peers. Determine what type of learning environment you prefer and choose a class that matches that.

  4. What is the cost? Acting classes can vary widely in price, so it’s important to consider your budget when making a decision. Keep in mind that more expensive classes don’t always mean better quality, so don’t be afraid to shop around and compare options.

  5. What is the class schedule and location? Consider your availability and location when choosing a class. If you have a busy schedule, find a class with a flexible schedule or perhaps a class online. Online classes can be a great option for convenience and may also give you the opportunity to work with coaches outside of your immediate location.

Ultimately the most important thing is to find a class that offers a learning environment that helps you achieve the goals you have set out for yourself.

Ask yourself: Is it challenging? Is it fun? Does it help you grow as an actor? With some careful consideration and research, you can find the perfect acting class for you.
