Through my many years of casting, I saw great talent that knew how to do the job but didn’t know how to get the job. Whether by lack of preparation or fear of presentation, these performers would sabotage themselves at the crucial moment they needed to succeed. This class was created to give singers, dancers and actors the tools necessary to get through to the callback and eventually secure the job.
Including: choosing songs for your voice type and character, creating audition cuts to perform, how to enter the audition room and greet the panel, preparing your sheet music and how to speak with the pianist, learning performance techniques to enhance your storytelling, what the casting director is really looking for and so much more

Todd Schroeder is an award-winning Music Director, Casting Consultant and Vocal Performance Coach. He has worked with a coterie of distinguished performers including Tony Award winners Leslie Odom Jr, Billy Porter, Katrina Lenk, Liza
Minnelli, Jason Alexander and the legendary Angela Lansbury. In addition,
Schroeder has worked with many Australian music theater stars including Karli Dinardo
(Hamilton), Samantha Dodemaide (Moulin Rouge), Erin Cornell (The Voice) and Jemma Rix (Wicked, Frozen),
Todd has vocal directed and performance coached on projects such as Disney’s “Aladdin, A Musical Spectacular”, “Wicked” at Universal Studios Japan and the liveaction musical show “Untrainable”, based on the movie “How To Train Your Dragon” for Universal Beijing Resort, recently named “2022 Best Theme Park Show in the World”. As a Casting Consultant for Broadway shows, theme parks and the cruise industry, Todd has auditioned over 50,000 singers, dancers, and actors. This led him to create the masterclass “Auditioning for Today’s Musical Theatre”, which he has taught at universities and performing art centers worldwide.
Schroeder is an internationally sought-after Vocal Performance Coach due to his innate ability to masterfully connect with artists from all walks of life and find that perfect balance between what the artist would like to say and how best to vocally present that message to the audience with power, excellence and clarity. Our classes are carried out using Zoom so you need to make sure you computer is Zoom compatible and tested- (Voice-Video). Please make sure you have a good fixed internet connection.
All zoom’s are recorded for quality control. If any student misses a class, we will give them a private link to access.
