About Bill

As one of Australia’s most experienced and innovative film-makers, Bill Hughes made his mark early in his career working with the legendary creatives at Crawford Productions as a Music Editor, Sound Mixer, Script Editor, Producer and Director. 

With his experience spanning a wide variety of genres, from Comedy to Drama, Music & Dance, he has directed scripted drama such as McLoud’s Daughters, Sam Fox Extreme Adventures and Prisoner: Cell Block H. More recently and a little closer to home, he produced and directed the TV series “All Saints”, produced “Packed to the Rafters” and Directed “Winners and Losers” all for the Seven Network. 

His experience and screen credits include long form series, mini series, multi award winning feature film “The Interview” featuring Hugo Weaving and Tony Martin and the tele-feature “The Killing Field”, starring Rebecca Gibney and Peter O’Brien. Having won many local and international awards his work is recognised the world over in excellence by critics and public alike.

While continually developing and pitching content ideas and formats, I enjoy the cut and thrust of creating, selling, developing and following through on the production of first class visual content and creative storytelling. I am completely open to discuss any projects and ideas to see how my skills and experience might be able to benefit you in achieving your goals and dreams in film, TV or something quite different.” Be it in a private one on one coaching or in his 4 week intensives, Bill is committed to helping story tellers in taking them from idea to final product, in using his years of experience to guide curious minds through the the in’s and out’s of the industry, all the while getting them to be the best creatives they wish to be.
